Abbie Leschinsky, MS, CSCS
Abbie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through National Strength and Conditional Association (NSCA). She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science and Master of Science Degree in Nutrition Health Science with a specialization of Nutrition and Exercise.
Abbie has experience working with elementary to high school athletes for sports performance at Speedway Village Pointe. During her time at UNL she was a volunteer coach for the Barbell Sports Club team working with college students from various athletic backgrounds/abilities and faculty members with various experience in weight training. Abbie also has experience playing on the UNL Club Ultimate team and has recently worked with ultimate athletes on increasing speed, agility, rotational power, and other skills pertinent to their sport.
Abbie has competed at the national and international level as a part of the USA Powerlifting association. She has placed in the top four at every national meet she has competed in and was first-place in her weight class at the North American Powerlifting Championship. Her consistent hard work and experience in the sport of Powerlifting was a key inspiration in becoming a strength and conditioning coach. Her greatest motive as a coach is guiding athletes and clients to achieve their fitness goals and aspirations - no matter if that means back squatting 400lbs or getting stronger to perform activities of daily living like getting up and down stairs at home with more ease.
Abbie’s future endeavors include obtaining an USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Certificate (Olympic weightlifting). This certification would give her even more tools to train strength athletes and offer athletes from all sports additional methods to produce power/explosiveness. It is Abbie’s goal to eventually build a weightlifting gym that she would own and operate. The gym will primarily be focused on strength sports (Powerlifting, Strongman, Olympic weightlifting) but will also provide programming for sports performance training to all types of athletes/teams. Ultimately the gym would serve as a home base for strength sports teams talented enough to compete at the national level - something Abbie understands requires a culture of teamwork, accountability, and leadership.
